BFG

Post by Latedave » Wed Oct 03, 2012 10:16 pm

I'll leave you to work out what it stands for:) Was wondering if people fancied doing another big game, I have a bunch of paint tables I can set up at mine and they're always extremely enjoyable. James I know you haven't done one yet but they're always a good laugh. Could have the current good v evil teams with maybe relics and bonus spoils of war for the victors. The issue is always of course finding an appropriate date, really I think it would need to be something like a Sunday afternoon but we could try a Friday eve again.

Thoughts?

Big Frog Guffawing? I'd struggle with Sunday afternoons due to family stuff, however happy to play a big game again. This format would probably suit all 4 end of season games

Big Flappy Gumbears?

Well, between now and end of November i am unavailable most weekends so if you want me to play it will need to be in December \ New Year. Mind you - most of us have New Years off work dont we?

Sounds good to me !

But it also is already sounding like it is going to be around when the end of season battle is anyway r.e. finding a suitable date. I'm generally available - but that could change. Put it this way, I'm the most likely to be available, so if you can settle on a date with those with more commitments I'll check then and most likely it'll be fine.

Ok, well I'm happy to provide the flat and beer so perhaps sometime towards December it sounds like. I'm a bachelor at the moment so most times suit. Les and Rab (assuming you want to play) do you want to consider some dates and we'll work around you?

Yeah, sure I am always up for a big game...especially to see if I can retain my 100% epic hammer record ;)

I would like to use my wood elves this time though while having my Dark Elves and Les's Goblins utterly crush the empire and lizardmen was fun, I still prefer my wood elves. I think I now have about 8,000 points...anyone up for a REALLY big game?

8k? Do they have to be painted? Not a problem if they do, just more to choose from if they don't

I dont think they d need to be fully painted but a totally unpainted army would be a bit uncool.

In answer to Rabs question i think i can field 8000 pts of lizards pretty easily (two old bloods and two slann can easilu be 2000!) and i lm sure i have more than 6000 pts of infantry and steggies. Les I KNOW you have at least 8000 pts of orcs snd gobbos. Any of the other guys have anything similar?

Dane has a ridiculous empire army. I know this because I sold him at least 5k of toys. I think i can field 15k of Greenskins without too much greif

think 15000 might be a bit much:) think 16000 per team would ve the upper limit from my experience if we were doing it over an afternoon and evening and 8000 os probably the upper limit for an evening. i do think however that the advantage fantasy has over 40k apoc is that by turn 3 it gets pretty decisive as most of the bulk of the forces are in combat. i have a couple of sundays free in november if people fancy some 8000 games (eg Rab) and hopefully we can find a suitable evening for the team one.
