Re: ECW Warhammer
I wont be surprised if you've all seen this, but this is certainly inspiring anyway.

Also search for Saxon Dog on the interwebs. He had a nice set up at Salute last year.

Well, now I feel additionally inspired. Also to work on wars of the roses stuff but still, inspired none the less.

On a banner related note, I am confused about how the additional symbols (dots, stars, dogs, bells and so on) work. Is it noting the company or rank of the commander or something else? Would that mean the commander of a regiment's main banner would be plain? I'm probably just more confused than I should be by this.

Re: ECW Warhammer
If you google "English Civil War banners" theirs a pdf file that explains it quite we and better than I could.
But yes plain field is Colonel's, then next the Lt Colonel has the St George's cross in the corner, then 1 device (stars, circles, lozenges or crescents and others mainly being Royalist) for the Major, first Captain has 2 and second has 3 and so on. Then their is a second style of flag had "a wavy pile" instead of a device. Have a look at Battle flag .com or co.uk they have some nice looking flags.

Re: ECW Warhammer
Borrowed from Saxon Dog:

They are pretty inspiring pictures. Once I've got this weekends commandos out of the way I'm starting on these guys!
Also I've now got Field of Glory: Renaissance on order (having made the mistake of purchasing the ECW supplement without the main book (doh!) Got it from Amazon for £16.25 so a bit of a saving on the £25 rrp!
So now when the Warlord Games book comes out next month I'll have the 3 big rules sets (ooh) WHECW, FoG and P&S. Obviously I'll be happy to lend them to people interested.

Re: ECW Warhammer
Field of Glory: Renaissance has arrived. What a fantastically designed rulebook! Well laid out, colour coded pages, plain English.... just need to work out if the rules are any good!
