I enjoy the watchtower scenario. Hasn't been too quick in my experience. The problem with it for the club is scenery. We'd need 20 towers for RR. Where would we store them? You can be certain it won't be used at RR for this very reason.

The annoying one for short games is the one where you have to take out banners. At least Watchtower has to run to at least 4 turns.

Watch tower has been the only game so far that has lasted less than 5 turns. It has ended turn 4 the two times I played it and both games were very short, one was against you and the other against Dave. In fact the only game I have played that was shorter was against Ben where he nuked my Vamp General turn 2 with death magic, the army fell apart fairly quickly. We both agreed that it was a rather anti climactic end to quite a promising game.

The breakpoint game vs Phil for me was actually quite long, though that was because we had most of our standards and characters spread out rather than focused in one unit. Its an anti deathstar scenario. Im not picking it this week though, I fancy a standard beat each other and count the VP style of game.

I agree with you about terrain, we are investing in quite a bit of terrain and the hold up is getting it painted. Suitable watchtowers will be coming though as you know quite well we are not running that scenario in RR because we are never going to buy 40 watch towers. I cant imagine any large scale tournament would be running that because of the same reason. Though arguably it neednt be an actual watchtower in the centre of the board, any building could do.

I agree with the watchtower point for tourneys, although we'd only need 20, one per table, not one per player, for RR. Cost and storage make this impractical, I know.

1 in 6 Watchtower games will always end on turn 4, that's the way it is written, but 5 out of 6 will be longer. Mine on Tuesday went to turn 7.

I've found the tower tends to change hands a couple of times, as so few troops can join in the assault. That can make for a very fluid and thus interesting game.

No response on Yahoo, so I'll try here.

Who wants a game on Tuesday? 1250 points.

Tall, long haired, blonde guy. Man who worked on a farm, turns up in a white Ford. Plays Blood Angels and Dark Elves.

He just doesnt go on the internet much.

I would play you but I have already been told once to support the Wings of War evening which I set up so I suppose I shouldnt slunk off to play fantasy.
