Re: To war! For Sigmar!
I'm glad you had fun. I may have been a little addled due to awful day at work combined with being up since 2.45ish in the morning so if I came across as unsporty at all I didn't mean to! The game was fun for me too, if a little annoying to have the shock elite troops just strolling across the middle of the board doing nothing
I just wish I could really control dice as it appeared at times. You were so unlucky with misfires it was beyond belief, I'd drop the great cannon, or threaten it with the microwave before your next game!
I still can't believe I managed to scrape a win, it looked to me as if you had it in the bag, especially when the trolls died (must remember to bolster them with a character at the start of the game)

Smile! It's not that bad!

Haha - the microwave...
I think you might see the addition of a Master Engineer in the next escalation, so I'll get a re-roll on the first firing result. I didn't think you were unsporting at all - was a very funny game

Re: To war! For Sigmar!
just thinking.. the cannon has metallic paint on it! Don't microwave it (unless you go and by a value one from tescos purely for this purpose!)!! Just a normal oven will do 1/2 hor at 250c should be a good enough threat

I've had a word. They won't be doing it again, they assure me. The promise of pink jerkins was enough, methinks.

Re: To war! For Sigmar!
Right - moving on up to 1500pts... Been giving this a lot of thought over the weekend, and even though I lost the last game to Les, it gave me a better overview of the army's capabilities than the spanking by Matt Pinto did the previous time I played.
So while I was originally a bit tempted to opt for revolution, I've found more of an incremental solution to the list upgrade that should bolster my force where (at the moment) I think it's most needed.
I'm hoping to test it out next week (I'm in Oxford all day tomorrow and probably won't make it back in time), so if anybody's up for a 1500-pt match-up on the 26th, let me know!

Phil,
Not free on the 26th, currently scheduled to play Rich. When you next available? I havent played you in a while and I would imagine that our games might get a little closer now that I am point sinking into Lords (finally).

Re: To war! For Sigmar!
Well, I might be able to make it tomorrow... though it will largely depend on when I get back from my meetings. Otherwise it'll be November 2, my own personal deadline day!
Do you want to tentatively arrange a game for tomorrow, fingers crossed?

Phil,
Cant do tomorrow (as much as I would like) I have to sort out terrain stuff tomorrow with Paul so no gaming for me.
Looks like 2nd November. I will likely have more painted by then.

Righto - that makes tomorrow easier anyway. November 4th it is, when I'll have my 1500-pt force ready for presentation in lieu of being able to make the proper deadline day.

Re: To war! For Sigmar!
So in readiness for next week's deadline (for me only, because I'm overseas for the following two weeks), here's my list:
Captain of the Empire (gen): 80
- Sword of Justice
Wizard Lord (lvl 4): 225
- Channeling Staff
Master Engineer: 65
Swordsmen (20): 145
- Full Command
Greatswords (10): 130
- Full Command
Handgunners (10): 85
- Marksman
Knights Panther (10): 270
- Full Command
Steam Tank: 300
Great Cannon (2): 200
Dan - we're down to play, I believe?
EDIT: To confirm the new stuff to be painted, that's 5 Knights Panther and the Master Engineer.
