Re: To war! For Sigmar!
Thanks for the game yesterday Simon - I must admit, I don't envy you playing Tomb Kings based on the new magic rules... I'm surprised GW didn't FAQ that properly.
Still, you weren't helped by my dice rolling, especially the artillery... 8 cannon shots and no sign of a misfire at any point... plus a couple of 6-dice magic rolls with no miscasts (and the one I did get was just 1 wound). After she abandonded me somewhat last week, Lady Luck was back on my side!
Anyway - good luck with painting up the rest ready for two weeks' time.

Update:
Battle Wizard is now painted (and even highlighted!), and so is the cannon crew. So just finishing off the cannon itself, then basing four models and I'm there.

Okay, a couple of piccies of the Bright Wizard:
Here's one from the front

And here from the side.

Some bits were more successful than others - there's not enough colour depth range in the cloak for example - but it was good to get a bit of practice is, as I've only really dabbled with inks and highlighting on one other model before.

Re: To war! For Sigmar!
Phil,
For clarity purposes I asked a forum I post on how to properly resolve our multi assault incident. Heres what they came up with
http://www.vampirecounts.net/Thread-How-should-I-have-handled-this-one?pid=165146#pid165146
Makes sense just to link it rather than retype it. So if memory serves you should have actually won that combat and my Grave Guard should have stayed out of the combat the following turn. Interesting...loads of rules there and multi assaults are a big bag of confusion.

Interesting... and thanks for checking up. Good to know - two more rules for me to bear in mind in future:
STUBBORN
NO MORE FOES
Hopefully by writing them in capitals that will remind me

Re: To war! For Sigmar!
Well, time is definitely running out, and things are looking tight... still some more swordsmen to pain before my list is complete -
No changes since I last played, so the Steam Tank stays in, mainly because I've not had much time to tinker/paint in the past 2-3 weeks. Busy busy busy for me between now and the second week in December!
Will I make it??

Well, I thoroughly enjoyed last night's game - thanks Les. It took a while to get through, but was an absorbing ride, and if I'm going to lose a game then I want to do it with lots of laughter along the way
