To mark the launch of WFB8, a few of us are starting new armies, starting at 750 points and then growing in 250 point blocks.

Finished my test model, nothing much just washed his rags in Devlan Mud (not feeling particularly adventurous this afternoon). Something which doesnt show up particularly well is that I have washed his eyes in a watered down Leviathan Purple, which I am not sure shows up in the flesh either but it tones down the white a little.

Last shot is a sizing shot and my attempt at getting wider shots to focus!

I like that scheme a lot - definitely works, and the face looks good too.

First rank (and how!) of Ghouls almost done. Just the eyes to decide on. I think I might do all the Ghouls first and then decide on what effect to go for.

For a bit of comic effect I decided to paint up the foot and hand in red heads satchal as most other paint their Ghouls, sadly its actually an easier method than what I went for (Asurmen Blue mixed with elf flesh, dry brush skull white!) but I like the effect of green Ghouls. They also look far dirtier.

I have 5 more of these to go and then I will have to wait for next friday to order the next 30! Should get them all done soon.

Forum SPAM!

Sorry guys to keep spamming the forum with pictures but I have just done some ghoulish eyes and I think they are probably the best eyes I have ever done. I know they are not perfect and never will be but I couldnt think of another effect which would make them look better (ahahahaha whatta pun :))

Not sure what is wrong with reds right eye, its kind of on the model but no where near as obvious. I am rather proud of these. Only about 35 more of them to paint to this standard and I will be done with them :) Gotta buy 30 of them first though.

No need to comment gents, I wanna see some other people pics more :)

Oooh Im very excited! My 30 Ghouls and 4 Hero models have arrived from mantic today

However I have to spend my evening at my girlfriends mothers house :violin: instead of building my new Ghouls.

Still over this weekend I should be able to assemble them all for my battle against the evil Empire and their dodgy neck muscles. Hopefully with a bit of effort I might even be able to have 10 of them painted as well.

Ok so I have started building all 34 of my models required by Tuesday :o, I hope that I will get them all done in time

I have assembled the 4 Hero characters, however I have to say that Mantics sense of scale is a bit disappointing. Their Necromancers are clearly much larger than that of the rest of their range and the one riding the waves of necromantic power is just ridiculous. See the scaling photo below

Image

As you can see the necromancer is massive in comparison to even the skeleton Ravenant of the same range (though they have got it right that a skeleton without flesh should be smaller than that of a person) and the wave rider is HUGE!

I am still not sure about him. Here are some further shots

Image
Image

I am not sure he will be straying far from the cabinet when he gets painted up because he is very top heavy and place him on anything but a flat surface and he is going to eat the dirt badly!

Still I will be getting the other 20 Ghouls assembled before Tuesday and people will be able to see my painted ones in all their glory then (they are quite fantastic in person, head inflation or not!)
