See I use "her friends are over" as an excuse to do things I want to do. Whenever her friends come over to gossip, I simply escape to "my room" and do whatever I want to do. Its great, last time her friend was over and they were drinking into the night and cyber stalking/bashing their so called friends I was able to escape and play computer games all evening.

It was bliss.

you could take some rats to work, then pop into gw at lunch times to paint (or even at your desk at work (at lunch obviously!))

If I can finish building early tonight, I might be able to undercoat before I go to bed. Red horde better than a naked horde.

My ratling gun has turned up in today's post, but no rules. Tomorrow, hopefully.

41 models still to undercoat, but everything apart from the clanrats, slaves and ratling gun are now a lovely shade of red.

Hand weapon shield for the clanrats and slaves in the end.

The Horned Rat Cometh!

Post by poi » Wed Jul 14, 2010 11:35 am

Chapter 1, Cry havoc and let slip the rats of war
Goblins to the left of them, goblins to the right of them, down into the valley of death strode the 96.

Divided in two by a fast flowing river, the left flank of the skaven horde advanced on the goblin lines. Two gobllin regiments fell to the clanrats, whilst the rat ogres dealt swiftly with the rock lobber. Giant rats? Well, they run away quite quickly, unfortunately.
On the right flank, slaves and plague monks faced down the wolf riders. Unable to hold out, the slaves fled, killing a wolf rider and 2 m,onks in the process, but the wolf riders couldn't reposition themselves before the left flank fell. Seeing their comrades flee, they followed them from the field, leaving the day belonging to the Horned Rat.

Squeek!

Cheers for a fun game Les. 8th is faster and deadlier than previous editions, so I can see why 3k games could rapidly become the norm.

A couple of things I need to do to my list before the next game. Probably better off sticking all my clanrats and slaves into a single unit of clanrats. Ratling gun pointless in such a small game, as he never had line of sight. The giant rats should have been fielded deeper than I went with.

Tonight the verminous horde will be:

Warlord, extra hand weapon, Armour of Silvered Steel, Talisman of Preservation
Chieftain, BSB, Armour of Destiny
38 Clanrats, shields, command
20 Plague Monks, command
2 Rat Ogres, Packmaster

A little less horde than last week.

Can we expect some painted minis?

Have you lowered the number to make it more achievable or for another reason?

Ten of the clanrats are part painted. Everything is undercoated, but red for a change.
