Waaagh Badgutz (Les' Gobbos)

To mark the launch of WFB8, a few of us are starting new armies, starting at 750 points and then growing in 250 point blocks.

I'm really going to try and expand my force each time based on what I've already got, rather than swap things in and out. I like the idea of the story developing over time, the Captain becoming a General, a unit of 20 growing to 30, etc.

Of course, if the army doesn't perform I might tear up that plan, but I'll forever live in PHEAR of not getting any big changes painted in time ;)

You going to do a roll at each escalation (ala Legends of the Old West?). I was very tempted to have my next escalation dependant on how my force fares in the official game on 10th but I couldnt find a sensible way of doing it.

I was just going to do it in a fluffy way, but if any one has the generals compendium there might be something useful in there

Slightly behind schedule! 21 models need the metal basecoating/inking, 20 models need the leather inked and 43 need thier bases drybrushed/edged/static grassed

Mwah ha ha! Fluff book is now up to date (although way too much written to transpose onto forum, if you want to read it ask me tomorrow night!) The mighty tome is a whole 26 pages long (to date) :D

Well I for one want to read about the fight with the undead, mainly because I have written one side with my vampiric arrogant viewpoint and now I want to read it from the arrogant viewpoint of the goblins (I assume their attitudes are the similar "never been beat" that the Orks are in 40K).

Gobbos get beat, but there's always an upside, for example in our game Magikflingga exploded, apart from a short sharp shower of gobbo bits, all that was found of the inept mage was a boot. This has been incorporated into the general fluff/character of my army now. Suffice to say being a shaman for the Skull Takas gives you the life expectancy normally associated with Spinal Taps drummer. The roll call of dead shamans stands as follows:

Magikflingga (exploded trying to cast a spell on dan's vampire)
Pzappy Finga (put too much effort into squashing one of poi's rat ogres and became a brief drizzle of goblin flavoured rain over the battlefield)
Drool Drinka (head went 'pop' as he tried to fry Martin's high elf chariot)

See thats the beauty of an Undead army. Most of my stuff dies quite regularly but given that its

a) Dead already
b) Animated by crazy dark magic

I can continue my story and fluff without having to invent new progagonists or explain exactly how my main characters ultimately avoided their demise. Makes for such an easier storyline :)

For example Margolla has had the following stuff done to her:

Butchered twice by Bretnoian Cav
Nuked by some shadow magic wielding Dark Elf
Been overrun by Empire Swordsmen after butchering the unarmoured Empire General
Not to mention the handfull of magical explosions she has caused whilst raising the hoards of death

Still she keeps on getting up, seems like some Vampires are pretty much indestructable indefinitely in the fluff. Makes for interesting narrative games.

ah well, the beauty of a gobbo army is that there are so many gobbos. I'm going to run out of hilarious ways for gobbos to die before I run out of gobbos
