Re: A Small Matter of Honour 2015 TICKETS NOW ON SALE

Dear players

Wow, that was the fastest ticket sell-out in ASMOH history, all gone on the first day. I hope all the frantic building, painting and playtesting is going smoothly.

We've had a few questions about how the force organisation works.

Detachments
The pack uses a slightly modified version of the Combined Arms and Allied Detachments, and all rules for those detachments apply other than the small reduction in the maximum number of units from the Combined Arms Detachment which can be fielded in the two 1,250 point games. No other detachment from any other codex or other source may be used.

Formations
A single formation may be used in place of your Allied Detachment. The only ones excluded are those which are marked as Apocalypse Formations. Those are intended for much larger games than ASMOH.

Dataslates
Some Dataslates contain additional units for a specific codex, others are formations. ASMOH will use each Dataslate's own rules for how it is fielded in your force organisation. For example, Belakor is an additional HQ choice for Chaos Space Marines or Chaos Daemons, but Assassins are a formation.

Imperial Knights
An Imperial Knight Detachment may not be fielded in ASMOH15. A single Imperial Knight can be fielded by any Imperial Combined Arms Detachment as a Lords of War choice.

Combined Arms Detachment
The comp the Sad Muppet Society discussed and agreed for this year’s A Small Matter of Honour is based on the Combined Arms Detachment, with a few tweaks for balance and the smaller games played in the first half of the event. The normal rules for fielding a Combined Arms Detachment apply, only the number of units for the smaller games is different.

Codex Harlequins
With the recent launch of Codex Harlequins, the Combined Arms and Allied Detachments doesn't work any longer because Games Workshop have written a Codex without any HQ choices. So, what do we do about it?

As many of you will already be well along the road of building and painting your armies, we don't want to do something which will force anyone back to square one so Codex Harlequins may be used, but as with all other armies it must use the modified Combined Arms Detachment or Allied Detachment from the pack with the exception that they can ignore the requirement for an HQ choice.

But what about Slay the Warlord?
The Warlord rules do not specify that your Warlord must be one of your HQ choices, only that it must be a character, if you have one. Otherwise any model can be nominated. You must inform your opponent which model is your Warlord. If a non-character is nominated, you might mark it in some way. No sneaky swapping which model is your Warlord during a game.

And Look Out, Sir?
No different to the 40k rulebook. Look Out, Sir is a 2+ roll for Independent Characters, 4+ for other Characters. If you make a non-character model your Warlord, they won’t get a Look Out, Sir roll.

A little more Q&A

A Farsight list can use R’varna Battlesuit.
And a bit of a RAW vs RAI on its Volley Fire. If it uses the Nova Reactor to fire the pulse submunitions cannon twice in one turn, it cannot fire in the next GAME turn.

Please note that the new Craftworld codex will not be permitted at ASMOH15, as it is released less than one month before. Codex: Skitarii is allowed.

Please note that an accidental casualty of our force org is Codex: Inquisition. As it is only usable usable with its own detachment, it is not legal for ASMOH15.

Less than three weeks until ASMOH 2015. How is the prep coming along?

I've had 10 lists so far, checking them over the next couple of days

Less than a week until the deadline, if you want that extra tournament point. Midnight Friday is the deadline.
