And the first question is in.

Just reading the rules pack, can fortifications from the Warhammer 40k rulebook be taken in your raid and battle force?
Aye, they're allowed, as are dataslates. Nothing from Stronghold Assault or Escalation though.

Imperial Knights are not allowed. They use escalation/apocalypse rules.

E-mail sent :)

Rob

Quick question: Can a formation be split betwwen the 1250/1750 lists, eg. I only include some of the units in a formation in my 1250 force (and therefore don't get the formation rules), but include the rest of the units in the formation in my 1750 force ?

Mm, need to think about that one. Which formation did you have in mind?

hehe, it's the Tau Dataslate. Thinking about it, it may add confusion, particularly with opponents tring to read army lists, so I don't mind which way you call it.

It'll make my troops dangerously fragile at 1250 points, but it's my choice if I want to use the dataslate :) At least I can tell my opponent he doesn't have to worry about Pathfinders, Tetras, Farsight Envlaves, Skyrays, Hammerheads, Flyers, Interceptor or Skyfire.

I got lucky with my list writing, I just picked 4 units to remove from the 1750 list I'm painting towards and they exactly equalled 500 points. Unless my painting goes extremely slowly I should get my list in a bit early :)

I'm going to rule that out.

Formations are bought as a whole, so in effect you'd be buying some units in your 1250 list and them trade them in for the formation in your 1750 list.

Can I use a converted/scratch built Aegis Defence Line?

The walls will need to be the same long/short lengths as the GW ones (or shorter), but other than that scratch builds and conversions are fine.

Fair enough, it's also the simplist solution.

My lists are done, I'll e-mail it accross later.

I took Tau to my last 1750 point tournament, so how come I've got 20 models to build and paint :)
