Bolt action 7th

Anyone fancy a game of bolt action first night back, Will have to go gentle and talk me through some units iv not used before.

I will have a count up of how many points iv got put it should be around 500's

Sounds good to me, I have no clue what I'm doing so will be good to learn, I will post up a list and points on Monday, see what I get built over the weekend

In the Red corner - Advice is much appreciated, first game using more than normal rifle squads :? Hopefully have everything painted and based by Tuesday too which for me is a minor miracle ll done in under 2 weeks.

600Pts ok for tonight les, iv upgraded the lieutenant to 1st, added a AT rifle team and upgraded the MMG to a HMG

Can do 500 if thats more normal and you have a list ready for it, i can do anything up to 600. just..... until i put in my next order.... which may just be tonight!

Good game yesterday Les, very lucky turn 3 on my part. The Game changing charge for the officer taking out the flamer team was nagging on me so i checked the FAQ again and it looks like it was a legal move.


"Do assaulting models have to take the most direct path or can the use the initial 12" distance to 'move around' obstacles?Specifically by 'obstacles' I mean going round the edge of a wall to assault the unit rather than directly across it.

You measure the distance taking into account the fact your unit might have to move round impassable terrain - like a tank that’s in the way - or a house – or potentially a high wall - and then if the unit is within the distance (generally 12" for an infantry unit) the assault goes in. So 'most direct' might involve going round things. However, you can't circumvent an obstacle as you move in order to avoid the fact that the unit you are assaulting is sheltering behind that same obstacle - no! In practice you will sometimes find that you have to place individual attacker models over or straddling a defended obstacle just to fit things in, but that doesn't affect the status of the defending unit and the combat is resolved simultaneously."
